Dubstepping by Marquese Scott (Song: Pumped up kicks) and a quick life update!

Quite a cool vid! One of the first that I actually feel like posting in a while!

Haven’t been posting here for quite a long while! For one, I’ve been a little caught up with work! For those not in the know, I actually changed jobs earlier this month, and it was quite a fun training period! Just felt a little inspired to blog a bit, because of this nice video as well as the training today.

One of the interesting concepts today was the idea that being assertive does not equal being agressive. Quite interesting if you ponder about it. You can be very assertive in life, but you don’t have to be agressive. It also led me to the concept of Agressive Submissive. In fact, if you think about it, most people in the world are agressive submissive. They are not assertive and thus not able to bring across what they want to say. So they let things happen to them. But when things do happen, they become agressive and fight, rather than trying to solve the problem. Hmm.. not too sure how to explain it though. Anybody understands that concept?

Another perspective of the world from the eyes of a Malaysian

Posted by Fergus on Jul 11, 2011 in General

In Singapore most young adults usually think that we have a lousy bargain in terms of the ruling PAP government. But the recent Thailand election has been quite an eye opener for some, though being a typical human, people are usually only concerned with matters affecting them.

I found this video, and thought it’s quite an interesting video. Most people always look things from their own point of view. But the things affecting us is affecting the world (Inflation, social unrest, unemployment, asset prices going mad, etc) Take a look at this video from the Malaysian point of view. There are probably a few more worth looking at.. (eg: Greece 40% unemployment for young adults. Spain 20% unemployment, etc)

Perhaps we’re all demanding too much for our own good?

Ferocious Female Fitness

Definitely the right title for it!

Interestingly, I can draw a number of parallels to pole dancing (keeping toes pointed, a strong emphasis on body weight workouts, high degree of flexibility and core strengthening) as compared to traditional gym work.

Suzie Q and Toby J @ SG Pole Challenge 2011

Posted by Fergus on Jun 13, 2011 in General

In 1 line, SG Pole Challenge was amazing! Suzie Q and Toby J was amazing!

As mentioned in my earlier blog post, SG Pole Challenge was held over the weekend at Iluma, Tornado-Se7en. It was actually quite an interesting venue. It was a segmented portion of Tornado, which is kind of like an entertainment zone with arcades and what not. So it had a high ceiling, which allowed a feeling of spaciousness compared to the usual drinking venues.

The theme for the event is Goth, so most of the costumes and performances were tuned towards that direction.

The judges were fantastic! Very poised and professional. Suzie Q and Toby J were both judges and performers for the event!

There were actually 2 more judges, 1 from the International Pole Dance Fitness Association, and 1 from Prime Gym. Unfortunately I couldn’t get them all into the photo. And I shall blame it all on my ancient camera.

The performers for the event sure had loads of fun!

and definitely all this would not be possible without The Fairy Goth Mother Ming (also known as Suzie Wong), the founder of Acropolates!

Enjoy the teaser!

Korea’s got Talent – Sung-Bong Choi (Definitely a tear jerker!)

Posted by Fergus on Jun 8, 2011 in General

Just saw this on facebook today. Quite a tear jerker. Please prepare your tissues beforehand.

Can’t really make out his singing, but I guess his backstory together with opera singing will always make a tear jerker.

Any other good videos like these?

PS: I can’t seem to find any other videos that’s on him.. Anybody seen them?

PoleArt 2010 Winner – Laurence Hilsum

Posted by Fergus on May 30, 2011 in General

Just found another amazing pole dance video, or rather, as they call it ‘Pole Art’.

httpvh://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i4vKsiSEgzI

It really is an artform, compared to the traditional mindset of pole dancing.

Pretty excited to watch the upcoming event in Singapore, SG Pole Challenge, where one of the top pole dancers, Suzie Q will be in town to perform!
